about
With over 16 years of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) experience our company
has been in the forefront of the design, development and implementation of various
flying platforms and First Person View (FPV) flying systems. Using the latest
technology in UAV stabilization and camera mount gyros, we are able to capture
clear, crisp and professional still photography and Hi-Definition (HD) video.

q & a
Q: What does UAV stand for?
A: UAV stands for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle
Q: Does UAV Imagery only use Helicopters?
A: NO, While we have found that the most versatile aerial platform is the UAV helicopter, UAV Imagery deploys a wide variety of equipment which includes UAV Fixed Wing Aircraft (Airplanes) , Blimps, Full Scale Aircraft and telescoping poles to capture the envisioned shot
Q: What types of cameras can be used with the helicopter?
A: UAV Imagery uses a wide variety of imaging capturing devices. Our cameras range from various Hi-Definition (HD) 1080i digital video camcorders to professional DSLR still cameras. We also can use your cameras or camcorders on our helicopters if you like.
Q: How high and far can the helicopter fly?
A: Our helicopters can reach beyond normal vision utilizing a live Video and GPS downlink and we have a maximum flying altitude of 15,500 feet above sea level.
Q: How fast can the helicopter fly?
A: The helicopter’s speed can ranges from 0- 80 mph depending on the type of equipment attached. Typically film work is done between 0-30 mph while aerial surveillance or search and rescue missions require a much higher rate of speed.
Q: Can you see what is being filmed or photographed from the ground?
A: Yes, UAV Imagery utilizes a Real-Time live video downlink combined with a full Pan and Tilt camera mount. Giving the camera operator full control of the camera movement.
Q: Can UAV Imagery provide exact GPS coordinates and altitude readings.
A: Yes, UAV Imagery can provide GPS and altitude readings through our Live Video Downlink. We can also record these readings for after action review.
Q: Can the helicopter fly inside buildings?
A: Our helicopters are completely electric and can fly anywhere.
Q: Can the helicopter be flown at night?
A: Yes
Q: How long can the helicopter sustain flight?
A: While we have found that most aerial shots require only 3 or so minutes of flight. Our helicopters can sustain continues flight for 12 minutes with a pit-stop around one (1) minute.
Q: What is the max Camera weight?
A: Our medium lift helicopters are designed to carry approximately 4 pounds of camera equipment. UAV Imagery does deploy a gas heavy lift helicopter that can carry up to 20 pounds of camera equipment.
Q: Can the helicopter fly in rain or snow?
A: Mist and dry snow is acceptable.
Q: What is the maximum wind speed the helicopter can fly in?
A: UAV Imagery will fly in winds up to 20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. For Video it is recommended to have winds less than 20mph
Q: Does the camera operator have control over Zoom and other camera functions?
A: Yes, the camera operator has full control over; zoom in/out, power on/off, and record start/stop.
Q: Can the helicopter fly over crowds of people?
A: Extensive flight over crowds is not recommended.
Q: How is a long distance shot accomplished?
A: For a shot sequence requiring long distance travel, UAV Imagery can use a chase vehicle, or fly the shot via first person view (FPV) with the video downlink.
Q: Can the equipment be shipped?
A: The equipment is designed for mobility. UAV Imagery can take the equipment anywhere you need it. The approximate weight of one system is 40 pounds.
Q: How long does it take to re-fuel (change battery)
A: Typically, this can be done in about one (1) minute
Q: Does the system require a permit to fly?
A: UAV Imagery prides itself on following all FAA, State and Local Government rules and regulations.
Q: What type of fuel does the helicopter use?
A: The helicopters that UAV Imagery primarily uses are completely electric.
Q: What insurance does UAV Imagery carry?
A: UAV Imagery currently carries 2 million dollars in liability insurance. Being added as an Additional Insured or a requirement of Additional insurance can be attained if requested.
